Job Detail: Product Line Manager

Job Overview

We have an immediate need for a PRODUCT LINE MANAGER (505-04-1008).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and execute product objectives, strategies and positioning based on corporate business plan.
• Focus on product line growth:  minimum of 15 to 18% growth annually. Drive product direction by identifying new products, features and enhancements within existing product lines.  Perform business case analysis to maximize each product’s life cycle.  Participate in risk analysis for new product proposals or major enhancements to existing products.
• Evaluate device networking industry trends, customer feedback, technology advancements and market requirements.
• Maintain a strong understanding of existing customer business needs, industry trends, emerging customer segments, market and prospective customer opportunities.
• Expand and build a 12-24 month roadmap for the device networking product family: Develop product plans and criteria for new products including specifications of the business model, business case requirements, roadmap, product strategy and features.
• Provide sales and marketing communications support such as testimonials, white papers, presentations, field presentations and technical verification of marketing documentation.
• Assure demand creation through development of the product and solution messaging for the DeviceLinx products that includes product and competitive positioning, creation of marketing requirements documents, development of product launch plans, product collateral, web information, sales training, presenting to business and technical audiences, sales tool development, and pre-sales & post-sales support.
• Act as a solutions evangelist for company’s sales channels and internal customers.
• Provide input into the development of technology partner relationships that expand product distribution channels.
• Oversee company-wide product roll-out, facilitating marketing training for all departments, including the development of product training materials.
• Meet with customers, sales, Tech Support, QA, industry analysts, management, engineering and engage the research team to understand the overall market and to quantify the specific benefits that customers expect from the product via personal discussions, focus groups, roundtables, surveys, etc.
• Author product marketing plans that align with the company’s goals and objectives. Lead engineering/marketing project status meetings to ensure project success.
• 30% average travel both domestic and international.

Skills And Competencies

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required. MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years experience as a product management professional in a like technology company.
• Must possess direct experience or demonstrate a conceptual understanding of the networking market.
• Must have strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak and write to both business and technical audiences
• Demonstrated success in a high-growth company of like size and scope.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in product planning, market interpretation/analysis, product vision, market knowledge, competitive analysis, and industry standards.
• Ability to work together in a team and cross departmentally/functionally (both from a leader and contributor perspective).
• Experience in influencing the direction of projects, programs and products.
• Sense of urgency and accountability in order to deliver projects on time.
• Demonstrated strong business acumen; tactical with great vision.
